October's been okay. Lots of health problems this year but hey, I'm still alive!

I went to a family reunion today. It was awesome to see some family that I haven't seen in a year or two.

School's great. I love school. I am in control at school. I have no identity crisis at school. I'm graduating in a year. <3

Then I'm off to travel for a semester and then in Fall 11, I'm starting the trek to a PhD in English Lit. With a joint concentration in Women's and Gender Studies, of course. I've got to choose a program, take the GRE subject test, and all that jazz. I'm looking at UIC around here but also Berkeley in Cali. Both have good programs and diverse populations.

I'm still at the deli. Of course. This is my third Christmas. Lord help me.

Ali and I broke up, and it was pretty brutal. I miss her, but I don't miss our fights or all the drama. It's easy to miss what was good.

Somewhere, in my foolish heart, is still hope that we might just make it together. It's getting smaller by the day.

Why can't I meet girls that don't like 2000 miles away?

I've had fun flirting with girls at school and at work but it's not the same. I don't feel like anyone will ever call me Nao ever again.

But that's how breakups go, right?

I may be going to Cali for New Year's.

Things are good. Different, but good.
